HP Placement Paper pattern – 06 jun 2007 -
The HP selection process is as follows:
1.Written Test
2.GD (Group Discussion Round)
3.Technical Interview
4.HR Interview

HP Written test was conducted by a consultancy. It consisted of:
1. Logical analysis (25 question): The questions were quite easy ones. You can refer RS Aggarwal for the sample questions: Many Venn diagram questions were asked.
2. Technical (30 question): The technical question were tough, the questions were mainly 4m C, C++, RDBMS n digital electronics ckt(DEC)

There was a sectional cut-off. Little less than a third of 200 candidates cleared the written test of HP

Then we had the GD Round. The topics for HP GD were like:
a. Should there be uniform dress code in college?
b. Love marriage or arrange marriage
c. Mercy killing

The HR person asks you to suggest a topic for GD, you can suggest anyone. They were looking for:
1st fluency 2nd accent 3rd grammer in the GD.
out of 63 candidate only 22 cleared the GD

Technical Interview round:
You will be asked a lot of questions related to your project. Do prepare it well.
Some Project related computer questions asked:

Tell me about ur project?
How can your project be helpful in software field?
Questions about computer like What storage device is used in computer, Draw the block diagram of computer

Here out of 22 candidate 11 were selected for the HR Interview:

HP HR Interview round:
They concentrate on ur communication skill and ur confidence
Some questions asked in HR interview were:
Tell me something about yourself?
What social work u like to do?(It was mentioned in the resume. Be ready to answer questions about what you write in your resume)
Why do u do social work?
Why software?

Finally out of 11 candidate only 7 were selected.
