HP Exam Test Paper – 11 jul 2007 -

HP company on campus to our college, GITAM. They were taking CSE, IT, ECE, EIE, EEE, MCA, and M-TECH students. There was a paper presentation in the morning follwed by the written test.

The HP Placement Paper had the following four rounds:
Written test
Group discussion
Technical Interview round
Finally HR Interview Round

In Written Test, there are two sections for both IT and non IT branches… aptitude and technical, there will be two sets

In APTITUDE, there are 25 questions and the time duration is 30 minutes.
The following is the distribution of questions of the HP Written test exam.
Questions on venn diagrams (1,2,3,4),Question on ratio and proportion, ages, (4-5) Data Sufficiency, 5 on binary decimals, speed and time (1), one problem on series, directions- 1 question, blood relation 1-question and some more.
There was a cutoff.

Next section of HP written test is TECHNICAL, there are 30 questions and time alloted is 40 minutes. The paper is different for computers CSE IT and non computers guys. The questions were like C pointers, matrices in arrays, structures, errors type questions and from digital circuit design using gates, etc.
The technical questions for CSE candidates were from programming languages like C, C++, UNIX, DBMS, etc..
Nearly 300 attended written 100 were short listed for GD round.

HP GROUP DISCUSSION GD Round:
Some topics going on in the GD round were “INDIANS GOING ABROARD” and “LIFE IN SPACE”.

HP TECHNICAL ROUND

First i entered the room.

Be confident in what u say
Some questions on C programs. (write a program on factorial)
What is your favorite subject?
I said electrical machines
He asked questions from linear integrated circuits (LIC) and power electronics(SCR)
What is the difference betweem diode and SCR
Draw characteristics and diagram of both and difference between them.
Few questions about data structures(linear linked lists,doubly linked list,stacks, queues);
That was the technical round. Then comes the HR round for those who manage to clear it.

He told me about himself, They are friendly and cooperative.
again same question… why your tenth marks are so less
are you feeling nervous…… no sir, i smiled
he said i think you are always smiling
i said yes sir,

what is your father & mother’s occupation
your brother doing
one suitation question, if your principal was given Rs.50000/- for your computer lab commence.. what will you first….. and if four more members were also given the same job what will you do
if you selected and appointed in bangalore how will you manage your time when you have stay atleast 30 km far from office
have you visited Bangalore or Chennai any time,,,,
Will you find any difficulty in staying outside
