ZTE Corporation China is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of telecommunications equipment and network solutions / services. ZTE manufactures the latest telecom equipment in the wireless network solutions space like GSM/GPRS/WCDMA, CDMA2000 1x EV-DO, WiMax and GoTa), ZTE F3G Network Solutions (including SS, broadband access, optical transmission, data products, IPTV, digital home, NGN, etc.)
ZTE also manufactures a full range of mobile phones / handsets, data cards, latest 3G handsets and CDMA handsets with fixed wireless terminals.
The Indian telecom market has been one of the biggest markets for ZTE. ZTE started its operations in India in 2001 as a total telecommunication equipment provider and within a short span has become an important supplier to almost all the big operators. The infrastructure products range from CDMA, GSM, Optical Transmission, Data Networks, Soft switch, Wi-Max, and Value Added Solutions. Terminal products have also been sold in India. ZTE has a large sales professionals / managers to handle its vast selling network in India. ZTE service centers cover most of the Indian territory. ZTE has had a huge sales growth in the last years of its presence.
ZTE was registered in India as ZTE Kangxun Telecom Company India Private Limited. Now ZTE is called ZTE Telecom India Private Limited.) which is a wholly owned subsidiary of ZTE Corporation, China. This subsidiary of the Chinese parent was established in India in the year 2003.
The corporate headquarters of ZTE are located in Gurgaon and its manufacturing unit / facility is in Manesar in Haryana. Its offices are also in Bangalore and Mumbai. In order to take advantage of the indian talent, the chinese parent has established a dedicated Customer Support Engineering Center together with a training center and R&D centre in Bangalore.
ZTE India employs 500 people in its indian subsidiary but little less than 25% of them are chinese or non indians. ZTE India expects to soon cross a revenue / sales turnover of US $1 billion in India.
