Hi .. HCL technologies called us at their noida (UP) office for direct recruitment.
The written test paper consisted of 2 sections
1 – aptitude
2 – branch specific.
The hcl Apti question paper was very easy. There were total of 60 questions to be done in 55 minutes. RS Agg and previous sample hcl placement papers will help.
Some of the multiple choice questions were:
1 if a+b means a is son of b and a-b means a is daughter of b and a*b means a is wife of b thn
p+q-r*t. What is the relation between p&t?
2. English – 4 passages 10 questions.
3. Flow chart questions – 6
4. Pie chart question.
5. Some technical questions were also asked.
How is virtual memory implemented – demand paging
1) Question was on an article whose options were a,a & a,the &the,a & the,the. The answer was the,
Two meaning questions.
Analogy questions were there like:-
(analogy:bmbkpfz) and 4 options were given. The relations for the analogies are simple as shown.
Number series were given like 1234234233453455 (this is just an example) and you have to find out the consecutive even number pairs.
Are there whose sum is a single digit >= 9
The second test in the hcl paper was branch specific. There was each for computer science, it and electronics – vlsi.
Here is the computer test. There wer 25 total questions to be done in 20 minutes time.
Questions were on c language and c++ only. Some of them are:

A question was virtual base class in c++ programming language. Type of error was asked..

Some questions on c language programs. One was insertion sort.
Binary search tree.
On question on the preorder sequencing of b tree – 1st visit root then visit left subtree in preorder.
After the tech part, there is the HCL HR interview round.
Same easy general hr questions were asked.
