HCL Placement Paper on 28th June 2007 at Sathyabama deemed university for final year B.tech students.
I am giving the hcl recruitment test here. You can have good idea from this plus you can also see the other hcl and IT MNC employment tests and interviews here.
The Aptitude round is online. There were only 2 rounds for us.
1. Aptitude (2 Apps for IT and CSE)
a. General Aptitude (60 questions in 50 minutes)
b. Technical Aptitude (Data Structures, C, OS) 25 questions in 20 minutes
2. HR General
In General Aptitude there were questions based on the following:
HCL Technologies LAT (Learnability Aptitude Test)
1. Two questions on blood realations
2. 6 reading comprehension
3. One train problem (speeds, relative speed, time finding)
4. Computing values based upon flowcharts
5. Using Bar Charts to answer the questions.
6. Correct the sentence question.
There were few others which i cant remember.
Technical Aptitude Test (B.tech CSE & IT branch)
1. 5 small logical situations in C
1. —> int (*ptr)[10] What it means ?
2. —> Program based on printf arguments…

3. —-> c language program with post and pre increment situation

A question on stack. dont remember others.
3.Os – operating systems questions:
There are more OS questions and other sample placement question papers for recrutiment tests. You can prepare better by practising all the questions.
1. Questions on scheduling
2. On swapping ______is used to implement virtual memory.
3. _____is used to allocate contigious memory locations.
4. One on Assembly level programming
5. Semaphores are used for______
6. Modulation in modem(0,1) to (0,2).
The HR Interview for the hcl test was held the next day.
There was a lady hr for me. She asked only simple hr questions. It was an easy session for me.
1. Introduce myself.
2. About my speciality.
3. She asked the difference between school life and college life.
About hobbies, movies, etc.
Also asked whether i want to go for higher studies.
Are you ready to go abroad if the company sends you?
Any location preference in India? Say no for this.
Are you ready to sign a bond for 18 months?

Overall, the HR Interview was friendly and cool. Just be confident and committed to the company when you answer any questions. good luck..
