HCL TECHNOLOGIES PAPER ON 12th FEBRUARY 2007 at Northern India Engineering College Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh – UP)

Its for third year students. My branch is Electronics and communication. (6th sem)

The written test had 2 sections:

1. Aptitude: 35 questions. Many repeated from other papers.
Topics: Data interpretation, puzzles, passages, jumbled sentences, etc. the pattern was same.

How many odd numbers are there between 2000 & 4999.

A figure involving concepts of geometry. Its was not tough though.

Multiplication of two numbers with unknown digits (O1 E1 O2 E2)

A exists if C is present B exists if D & A are present. and so on (it can be solved with truth table method also)

Somewhat same question as above involving Figo, Ronaldo etc. & one drives scooter while the other rides bicycle and so on (both the questions were easy)

A simple question on years.

The aptitude part was not tough. Utilize the time properly.

2. Technical writtent test: Next is the tech multiple choice test. There were 20 questions. Time allowed was 15 minutes.
The topics were microprocessor, physical and logical address, little endian & big endian mode, complexity of algorithms, Data structure related questions, a simple question to find 2’s complement of a number and few c language programs related to pointers, etc.

After the hcl written objective test, we expected to have the GD but i was cancelled. The technical and hr interviews were held the same day. Students dont usually worry about the hcl hr interview as hardly anyone is left out from that part.
