You can create a System Restore Point in Windows XP to restore your computer’s settings in case the system doesn’t seem to work properly.
How to create a System Restore point in Windows?
Click the Start Button, Go to All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore
The System Restore Window will appear.
Here you will be able to do the following.
1) Restore your computer to an earlier time
2) Create a Restore Point
3) Undo your last restoration
You can select any option depending upon whether you want to create a restore point, restore to a point or undo your previous restoration to a point.
If you want to create a restore point, then click option 2) and click next.
In the description box that appears, type a name to label the point. The time and date will be automatically added. Then to finish, click create.
The system restore window can be launched directly by typing %SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe
in the Run Box.
