This article will tell you how to hide a file, how to hide a video, audio or your important document in Windows Xp special pack. And how to unhide and view the hidden files in your computer hard drives.

To hide any file do the following:
Right click on the file.
Select properties
Then at the bottom check or tick the hidden checkbox.
Then click ok. Your file will appear different (it will look a little transparent)
Then click refresh and your file will be nowhere to be seen
Your file is hidden this way.

(the steps may be somewhat similar for windows and mac)

How to unhide your hidden file.
Go to Toold in the top menu
Then click folder options
Then click view
Then Under “Hidden Files and Folders”, click show all hidden files and folders
Then click ok and you are done. Your file will be visible to you.
TO unhide it permanently, again right click on the file, then clear the check box “hidden” and click ok
You are done. You file / document / video or audio file is unhidden now.

You may ask:
If the folder options option is not there in the top menu, then what to do??

The folder options in the control panel in Windows XP can be found as follows:
Go to your control panel. There are different ways of going to the control panel.
Click start, go to settings, then click control panel.
If there are further categories, Go to “Appearence and Themes”, then go to Folder Options.
Then click view
Then Under “Hidden Files and Folders”, click show all hidden files and folders
Then click ok and you are done. Your file will be visible to you.
TO unhide it permanently, again right click on the file, then clear the check box “hidden” and click ok.
