This tutorial tells you how to set up a shortcut icon on your computer to lock you computer in double click. Lock your admin account using a shortcut on your Windows desktop.

This is especially handy if you have to leave your computer. You can just run the shortcut and your computer will be locked. (This will require you to set password for your user account which you can do in control panel – user accounts)

Do the following to set up a shortcut for locking your computer / user account admin or other:

Right click, point to new and click shortcut.
A wizard will open.
Copy and paste the following whe the shortcut wizard asks for the “Name of the location”

rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation

Then click next and give any name to your shortcut.
Then finish it and you are done.

You can also change the icon of the shortcut. There are plenty of icons available in windows.

To change the image of the icon, Right click the shortcut and click properties.
Then click shortcut tab and at the bottom click “change icon”
Then you can change the icon as you wish.
