Safe Mode is the diagnostic mode of the Windows. Only the minimal components of the Windows needed to run the operating system are used here. This mode is for troubleshooting any problems which may arise in the Windows. You can start the Windows in safe mode and toubleshoot your problem. After that you can restart your computer and work normally.

Internet is restricted in the safe mode. The video standard driver of low resolution is used in safe mode. You can diagnose the systems and check the problem with any drivers or softwares in the safe mode.

How to start your computer in safe mode:
When u switch on your computer, a memory test appears or a BIOS logo appears. If you have multiple operating systems installed, then you should select your operating system and then press  F8. A list will appear and you can select safe mode from that list.

If there is only one operating system installed as is the case for most computers, then you can press F8 few times after the memory test and the list will appear from which you can select the Safe mode option.
